East Asian literature Essay

In light of Yasutaka Tsutsui’s â€Å"The Standing Woman†, the intensity of the group over that of the individual is certain. This can be induced dependent on three purposes of argumentation which are the primary character’s contemplations toward the start of the story, the old man’s disclosure in his discussion with the principle character, and the fundamental character’s conversation with his better half. Toward the start of the story, we locate the primary character who is an author contemplating the story that he wrapped up. He makes reference to that the story is â€Å"capable of neither damage nor good†. Since he had spoken this to himself then it must be valid. Later on it would be uncovered in the story that his significant other who he adores so much has been gone to a manpillar by the administration. However as opposed to being irate and looking for retribution, the man even toward the beginning of the story as of now appears to be crushed by the very society that aggrieved his significant other. At the center of the story, the author speaks with an elderly person who uncovers that he had likewise been an essayist however is currently excessively scared of oppression to compose anything by any means. The discussion shows that society has likewise broken the elderly person without expecting to capture him and transform him into a mantree. The old man’s dread of getting presented to the general population and being derided had just overwhelmed him and these feelings of dread originated from society since it is the aggregate society that has the best capacity to scorn. The last confirmation originates from the writer’s conversation with his better half. His better half who had once been so pleased and solid has been diminished to a yielding subject to society’s impulses to a state of not in any event, fighting shameful acts done to her by lushes. Taking everything into account, the intensity of an aggregate society really overwhelms the purpose of a specific part.
